Public Notice of May 19, 2020 Primary Election
Summary and Background
Notice is being given that on May 19, 2020 the City of Hermiston will hold an election for the following elected positions:
- Mayor, Four-year term
- Municipal Judge, Two-year term
The City Charter states the Mayor and Municipal Judge will run in the Primary Election. If there are two or less candidates then the Primary Election will determine who will be elected into office. If there are three or more candidates then the two with the highest number of votes in the Primary Election will be placed in the General Election to see who shall be elected into office. Candidates must file by March 10th, 2020.
Public Notice of Election will also be given for the At-Large Council Positions in 2020. The City Charter states the At-Large Council elections are held only at the General Election in November. At-Large Council candidates will have from June 3, 2020 to August 25, 2020 to file.
