Summary and Background
John Kirwan resigned his at-large council position on April 27, 2020. John's term expires on December 31, 2020.
The City advertised for those interested in filling this unexpired term beginning on May 4, 2020 based on requirements in #64 of the council rules.
The City received one interested applicant; David McCarthy.
Mr. McCarthy has been active in the community in a variety of ways. He has served as president of the Hermiston Kiwanis Club. He participated in Class 21 of Leadership Hermiston and was instrumental in their raising $20,000 for their "Stuff the Bus" fundraiser. He also volunteers as a master of ceremonies and as a member of his church's leadership group.
