TITLE:  Sewer Easement - Lamp 
Subject

A dedication of a public sewer easement is proposed for land along E Jennie Ave.

Summary and Background

The planning commission granted a conditional use permit for Santiago Estates in December of 2019.  Due to topographic issues the development will connect to municipal sewer service near the intersection of NE 7th Street and E Jennie Avenue.  In order to facilitate this sewer connection, the city required the applicant to obtain a twenty-foot public sewer easement.  This easement will be located in the future right of way for E Jennie Ave.  The applicant has prepared an easement document for the area creating a permanent 20-foot wide public utility easement.  

 

The attached easement will dedicate a 20-foot wide strip, 484 feet in length from the end of the existing E Jennie Ave right of way near NE 8th Place and extends eastward to the Santiago Mobile Home Park development.  Santiago Mobile Home Park will dedicate and improve right of way for E Jennie Ave as a condition of development.  In the future as development occurs in this neighborhood, E Jennie Ave will eventually be constructed and connect NE 4th Street to NE 10th Street.

Fiscal Information

The easement is being dedicated to fulfill a condition of approval for development imposed by the city.  There is no cost to the city to acquire the easement.

Staff recommends that the city council approve the easement dedication.
