TITLE:  Notice of Accepting Applications for Ward IV City Councilor 
Subject

Notice of Accepting Applications for Ward IV City Councilor to fill the Vacancy left by Councilor Douglas Smith.

Summary and Background

Per the direction of the City Council, at their September 14th meeting, to fill the vacancy left by Councilor Douglas Smith, the City is proposing advertising the notice below, in the local newspaper, City's website and Face Book page as well as postings through out City buildings:

 


" Accepting Applications for Ward IV City Councilor

The City of Hermiston is currently accepting applications to fill the remaining term of the Ward IV City Councilor position left by the resignation of Councilor Douglas Smith at the September 14, 2020 City Council meeting. The Council position will be filled by appointment from the City Council and run until the qualified voters of the City vote for their choice of candidate on the official ballot at the Special Election in March 2021.

To apply, please fill out and return the application (found on the City's website and at City Hall) and any other pertinent information you’d like to the City Council to consider to: City Hall, Attn: City Recorder Lilly Alarcon-Strong, 215 E Glady’s Ave, Hermiston, OR 97838, or to lalarcon-strong@hermiston.or.us by the application deadline of 5:00pm on November 4, 2020."
