Subject
A property line adjustment between Theater Sports Park and Kopacz Nursery & Florist is proposed as part of the Hermiston Drain pipe project.
Summary and Background
The City's public works department is working with the Hermiston Irrigation District to install pipe for the exposed portion of the Hermiston Drain between Home Depot and Geer Road. This piping improvement will help eliminate a long-standing nuisance area on the south side of W Theater Lane. The exposed ditch has long been an accumulator for trash and debris and is very overgrown. The weeds and trees create a vision hazard for the intersection of W Theater Lane and Geer Road.
Raymond & Sherrie Kopacz have agreed to donate to the City the narrow and unbuildable portion of their lot which contains this ditch easement. The City will add this land to Theater Sports Park. The land proposed for transfer from Kopacz to the City is approximately 12,278 square feet or 0.282 acres.
Whenever property is acquired or sold by the City, the city council must approve the transaction. The property line adjustment now comes before the city council for approval as a consent agenda item.
