Updates to Chapter 70 General Provisions, Chapter 71 Traffic Rules, Chapter 72 Parking Regulations and Chapter 73 Bicycle Operations are proposed.
Summary and Background
In the continuing efforts to update city ordinances, Chapters 70-73 need to be updated.
The updates include a number of housekeeping type changes. There are a few more substantive type changes and following is a summary of these changes:
- Specifying that Code Enforcement is an enforcement entity for the Traffic Code.
- Establishing the option to cite violations to the Hearing Officer if deemed necessary.
- Establishes a parade permit process.
- Simplifies the regulation of bicycles.
To address the comments from the October 11, 2021 meeting, the appeals process for a parade permit was adjusted to be from the police chief to the city manager and then to the City Council.
