2022 Council Goal Setting Report
Summary and Background
Attached is report on a two-day retreat held February 2-3, 2022 to review the Council’s goals, discuss current community projects and issues, and provide City staff with direction regarding the Council’s priorities for the coming years. This session is the eighth such retreat. For the seventh time, the City contracted with SSW Consulting, a professional strategic planning and facilitation firm to prepare and guide us through our discussion. In advance of the retreat, SSW conducted outreach with the Council and staff to discuss community challenges, opportunities, and priorities on the horizon. A part of the process this year was the recent completion of the Hermiston 2040 visioning process. This brought an additional level of community involvement into the goal setting process.
